BCST is a somatic (meaning "body-based") therapy that uses light touch to help release trauma and tension from the body, thus improving mental, emotional, and physical health.
Our bodies hold our emotions and our history, which can show up as physical discomfort and disease, emotional distress, mental unrest, or repetitive unhelpful behavioral patterns or blocks. Regardless of the origination of the trauma, Craniosacral Therapy can bring relief.
BCST makes an excellent accompaniment to traditional treatments as well, because sometimes both are needed.
Your body is on your side and it wants to be well! Let's help it to do so in a gentle and effective way.
Every case is unique, however, it tends to look something like this: If you're coming in with a very upset nervous system and need help regulating so you can function in the world again, sessions at least once a week for 2-6 weeks is a good idea. If you're looking to address a chronic issue, once weekly for a bit can still be a helpful way to start in order to acclimate your body to the work, but it's also fine to spread the sessions further apart. Once your system is settled and you are feeling better, it's great to have sessions every once in a while as you feel called. I personally like to have sessions once a month if I can, or at the very least once a quarter, whether I have a specific reason or not. It keeps the body-mind-spirit humming along nicely, while fortifying it for future life challenges, because those will always come. I find this work, done consistently, makes those times MUCH easier.
Something is better than nothing.
If, for whatever reason, you're unable to come as often as you feel you need or want, just do what you can. The Greater Intelligence is holding the whole situation and I find that people get what they need within the time and resources they have.
Shifts toward healing can show up anywhere in life and not just in the body-mind-spirit. Overall, there will be more spaciousness within yourself and in life, and more connection to Life Force and the Greater Health. In addition to feeling better in and more aware of your body, you may notice benefits at your work, in relationships, physical health, family, activities, habits, mind patterns, ways of being, trauma resolution, reactions you used to have but suddenly don't anymore...spontaneously cleaning out the garage and enjoying it... Things like that.
Intention
